First off, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who joined us for our launch celebration. We could not have asked for a better group of people to share this experience with. Solar1 also deserves recognition, Dina and the team helped put on a smooth event in such a beautiful location along the East River.
While the Brooklyn Lager flowed and tasty snacks disappeared, the Divvy network grew. The vibe was spectacular and countless new friendships and partnerships were formed. The excitement surrounding the clean energy community in NYC is what compels Divvy to succeed.
Rob and his Dutch charm kicked off the short program, which also included Kyle’s story of Divvy, from a beer shared with Rob at the Heights on the Upper West Side to successful platform launch and beyond. His remarks were followed by an introduction to Solar1 and its community solar initiative by Max Jeol. Afterward, David Logsdon from ConEd gave an informative overview of distributed power generation within NYC and ConEd’s views on solar. Then, Nate White (Mr. White) introduced the crowd to the first project on the Divvy platform. His students are evaluating the synergies between solar and green roofs and need help to fund the next generation experiment.
